Speed and Urgency with Savneet Singh

My top highlights from my podcast today (Spotify link, iTunes link) with Savneet Singh, CEO of PAR Technology (NYQ: PAR):

1. Values must turn away the wrong people. PAR values: act with urgency, deliver outcomes, move fast, don’t settle.

2. Use scorecards, KPIs, and measures to make conversations with direct reports as objective as possible.

3. Culture must map to organizational design. If you want ambitious people, you must build in paths for them to advance and run teams or products.

4. Reducing individual mandates allows for speed in execution.

5. PAR created a CEO Bonus Program, whereby high-contributing, rising star employees anywhere in the org chart are granted equity.

6. Tie bonuses and equity awards as close to an individual’s sphere of influence as possible.

7. When starting a cross-sale program, pay way more commission for the product you want cross-sold.
